Meet Nick Cadigan’s 1,155 HP 6.0L Ranger

You’ve probably never seen a Ford Ranger like this. Nick Cadigan’s third-generation compact, regular cab is rocking one of the rowdiest 6.0L Power Strokes to ever be stuffed in one of these tiny Blue Ovals. Built with Warren Diesel injectors, a competition FASS fuel supply system and 94mm over 67mm compounds that produce triple-digit boost, the truck made a wild 1,155 hp on the chassis dyno recently. Nick’s 2wd red rocket is also equipped with a full roll cage, a fuel cell, slicks, and hits the drag strip with regularity. In the future, a rear four-link suspension with coilovers will likely make it under the truck to help get Nick’s 60-foot times down.

UCC’s Ultimate Underdog

From King Of the Street to Outlaw Diesel Super Series to Ultimate Callout Challenge, Patrick Brown is determined to prove that a VP44-fueled Cummins can hang in today’s high-horsepower, common-rail world. For 2025, he’s vowed to bring his 6-second second-gen to U.C.C. and leave it all on the line for the most grueling 3-day event in diesel. But Patrick isn’t bringing the same old, electric blue Ram you remember. Over the winter, a host of upgrades were performed on the truck to increase his chances of placing well on the dyno, at the drag strip, and in the dirt. Do yourself a favor and be in Indianapolis the weekend of May 30-June 1st.

Warren Diesel—Comin’ In Hot

What happens when you take an engine that made 2,300 hp on the dyno and stuff it into a lightweight, back-halved Super Duty? Jesse Warren is about to let the world find out at UCC. The Pro Street truck he’s bringing to Indy will be sporting the same, billet block 7.0L (6.0L based) Power Stroke that motivated the Shark Bait RWYB pulling truck down the track last year. That means HEUI injection and a massive turbo. Will Jesse’s truck make 3,000 hp with nitrous in the mix? If it does, it will blow right past the 2,000-rwhp mark—something 6.0L lovers have been knocking on the door of for years.

That’s One Nasty Third-Gen

Chance McKelvie turned some heads recently at the Shutdown Showdown no-prep race in Chandler, Arizona. There, on the bare asphalt racing surface that is the top-end of the drag strip at Firebird Motorsports Park, his regular cab third-gen put in work, making it all the way to the final round before losing to one of the Grand Canyon state’s fastest no-prep drivers (Paul Gapnyall). Chance’s deck-plated Cummins is fine-tuned by Blake Crenshaw (i.e. UDT Tuned), is supported by a Tier One Transmissions’ 48RE, and makes its shifts between 5,100-5,500 rpm! His Second Place effort at Shutdown Showdown proves (once again) that 4x4 diesels will continue to be a formidable threat in no-prep racing.

Mid Michigan Mayhem

It was another huge turnout for Mid Michigan Mayhem over the weekend, the annual truck show held at Birch Run Speedway. Without question, this year’s burnout bash lured countless spectators and dozens of competitors to central Michigan, as the burnout craze continues to prove it’s more than a temporary fad in the diesel industry. The truck-only event offers one of the largest show ‘n shines in the Midwest (complete with Top 25 awards being handed out), jams 30 automotive vendors onto the grounds, boasts Michigan’s longest bar, and provides 8 hours of nonstop tire obliteration. If you’re up near the “thumb” next spring, make sure you check this show out.

The Return Of The Cobra Mustang??

We're always watching Ford's patent and trademarking work, thanks to FordAuthority.com, we found another one that has interesting implications. A few months back, Ford applied for a trademark for "Boss" and "Dark Horse Boss", making us wonder if the next generation of Mustangs might get a throwback package with the Boss name. And even more recently (and more importantly), Ford applied for a trademark for the name "Cobra" in the EU. A namesake that hasn't been used by Ford for nearly 20 years. The trademark was for a very broad usage. It's entirely possible Ford is just looking to do some merchandising deals, but it seems it's just as possible they are planning on bringing the iconic nameplate back to the Mustang. As it always goes with this trademark or patents, only time will tell.
