World’s Most Expensive Barn Find: The $100,000 Second-Gen Resurfaces

A social media post more than a year old is making the rounds again. Without a doubt, NJ Truck King overtook the Internet with this one. A second-gen Dodge Ram 3500 with 1,200 miles on the clock. That’s not a typo. One thousand two hundred miles are all that were accumulated on the odometer. Better yet, the dually was a six-speed version (NV5600), meaning it was an H.O. model packing the 245 hp, 505 lb-ft version of the VP44-fueled 24-valve 5.9L ISB Cummins. Interest, intrigue, and outrage ran wild when the truck dealer with a massive online presence listed the 1,200-mile barn find for $100K, and folks are still chiming in on the post…

Mach E Hertz Edition's Receive Massive $20k Discounts

Mach-E deals are getting interesting. A limited batch of Hertz Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT models—only 100 built—are now being sold off at steep discounts, with some reportedly listed around $40,000 after previously carrying prices north of $60,000. The Shelby-branded Mach-E GTs don’t in any way compare to the standard Mustang GT, but they do bring the Hertz/Shelby look with black-and-gold graphics, carbon-fiber aero pieces, forged wheels, a lowered stance, and limited-production plaques. It’s a rare EV Mustang with iconic rental-car history, Shelby branding, and a price drop big enough to make even gas-only loyalists at least raise an eyebrow.

The “Duramax Chevelle” Is Going To Be Wild

Rick Fletes has been busy building his tube chassis Pro Mod Chevelle, and the latest updates prove he’s pulling out all the stops with the project. The Duramax is in, the intercooler is in, the cooling package is complete, and the fuel system is in progress. The interior is a work in progress, too, but moving right along and, as we go to press, Rick is likely wiring the car. In Rick’s own words, “If it runs in May, then maybe we can race it in June.” We sure hope so. The 3,300-pound Chevelle should be nothing short of a rocket.

1,500+ HP 6.7L Power Stroke

It takes significant horsepower to make a full-size Super Duty competitive in the 5.90 Index class. For his power production needs, Spencer Prichard turned to us at SPE Motorsport for a 6.7L Power Stroke capable of living (pass after pass, round after round) in high-horsepower trim. But what is perhaps most impressive about Spencer’s engine program is that he’s using a single turbo and a single high-pressure fuel pump (an Exergy Performance Alpha 550 CP3) to meet his horsepower needs. You can catch this bright blue F-250 chasing the 5.90 Index points championship in the Outlaw Diesel Super Series this season.

72 Fast Update: An ODSS Champion Preps For The Big Race

Jeremy Stickney has transformed his third-gen Cummins—a truck that’s won more than one ODSS 6.70 Index championship—into a very legitimate Seventy 2 Fast class threat. If you follow diesel drag racing, you know Jeremy will do his homework before showing up to the $100,000 race in Indy. In fact, he’s already been out testing and fine-tuning his new, 72mm VS Racing turbo/fuel-only combination. So far, the results look promising. Don’t be surprised if his ’04 Quad Cab puts low 6’s on the board and does so with clockwork-like consistency. It all goes down the weekend of June 5-6 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Volvo/Mack Unveil Latest Class 8 Engines

Volvo Trucks North America revealed its U.S. EPA 2027-compliant Class 8 engine last week at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Las Vegas. The new 13-liter D13 Volvo/MP13 Mack engines produce as much as 540 hp and 1,950 lb-ft of torque, engine braking power as high as 630 hp and, thanks to being integrated with Volvo I-Shift and Mack mDRIVE automated transmissions, return up to a 3-percent improvement in overall fuel efficiency compared to their predecessor engine(s). New, high-tech gadgetry on the D13/MP13 includes an electrically heated exhaust aftertreatment system (one heater before the DPF, another before the SCR catalyst), a turbo with a pre-turbine throttle, and 14-wave pistons.
