Greg A. is breaking the Internet again. This time, he’s teaming up with SuperStick Transmissions on a G56-swapped fifth-gen Ram project. Out with the Aisin and in with the company’s 1,000hp rated six-speed. Power transfer will be handled via a dual disk South Bend clutch, complete with a solid flywheel and brand-new hydraulics. Inside the cab, expect the integration of the shift stalk to look factory. Out in the real-world, expect this one to turn heads—not so much for the WrenchWorkz-theme paint on the case, but for the simple fact that a ’19-newer Ram will have an audible pause between gear changes.

This year’s SEMA Show brought an estimated 150,000-plus attendees to the Las Vegas Convention Center. On the compression-ignition side of things, talk of further deregulation of emissions standards was in the air, and the SEMA Show hosted various emissions education classes to help clear up any confusion at present. Of course, several oil-burner builds stopped show-goers dead in their tracks. Chiefly among them was this hand-built Power Wagon from Six Twelve Auto Worx. It sits on a ’13 Ram 2500 chassis and packs a gold-plated 6.7L Cummins. Rumor has it that it was hauled out to Vegas from the East Coast on an open trailer. We can’t even imagine the kind of looks it got…

Last week, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles LLC issued a recall for 320,065 U.S. market plug-in hybrid Jeep models due to potential fire risks. The affected vehicles include 2022-2026 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe’s and certain model year 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s. According to the report, fire risk is reduced when the vehicle’s battery charge level is depleted. As such, it was recommended that owners refrain from recharging their vehicles. Additionally, FCA recommends parking away from structures (or other vehicles) until a proper remedy has been released. When that remedy comes is anyone’s guess, but FCA says affected customers will be notified as soon as one is available.

Need a transmission that’s more predictable and reliable with big power in the mix? It might be time to put a tried-and-true 4R100 behind your 6.7L Power Stroke. Snyder Performance Engineering’s 6.7L to 4R100 rear cover is a direct fit replacement for the factory rear cover and features a modular 4R100 bolt pattern. Precision CNC machined from billet-aluminum, it uses the OEM gasket and rear main seal, and it also accommodates the factory crankshaft position sensor, starter, and dipstick tube. This is the same rear cover employed in SPE’s 6.7L-powered dragster, the rail that owns both the 1/8-mile and ¼-mile record for the 6.7L Power Stroke platform.

About 20+ years ago, there was a new site that was designed to unite auto enthusiasts. Before social media gained it's dominance, this site was pretty revolutionary. On the site users would create their own profile and share photos of their cars. It was a way for car enthusiasts to show off their cars and talk with other like-minded enthusiasts. It was a great idea, but it never took off (or Facebook took over, who knows). Well, Ford is now doing essentially the same thing. Ford Special Vehicle Registry is now live (link below) and it's just what we described: a site full of Ford enthusiasts posting cool Ford stuff. Go check it out! We're going to set up our profile now too.

On Friday, President Trump pardoned Troy Lake, a 65-year-old diesel mechanic who’d spent seven months in federal prison, followed by being placed on home confinement back in September, for deleting emissions systems on ailing trucks and buses. Lake’s place of business, Elite Diesel, was first raided by the EPA in 2018 under the first Trump administration, but the case turned into a criminal prosecution under the Biden presidency. Up until last Friday, Lake feared he would live the remainder of his life as a convicted felon who couldn’t vote, own a firearm, or hold public office. U.S. Senator, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, personally made the phone call to Lake to tell him the life-changing news.
