The Seventy 2 Fast Race Cheat Code: Cummins Swap

With the odds seemingly stacked against the V-8 competition for the $100,000 Seventy 2 Fast race, JH Diesel & 4x4 did the most logical thing they could with their Silverado. They Cummins swapped it. That’s right, out with the LB7, in with the 6.7L common-rail. But that’s not all. Once in place, the regular cab Chevy paid a visit to the Dynojet at Hardway Performance for a little fine-tuning. Right off the trailer, the truck laid down 1,390-rwhp on a 1-percent correction factor. Then it was on to Bradenton Motorsports Park for some testing. Look for the JH’s Cummins-converted Bow Tie to make a statement this weekend in Indy.

UCC Prep: What Sled Pull Setup Is Myer Stump Bringing To Indy?...

Myer Stump works for Power Driven Diesel. Myer Stump is a UCC competitor. Myer Stump may be using this during the UCC sled pull… PDD teased the company’s old dual rear wheel, cut-tire, rear Rockwell 145 series axle arrangement on social media last week, and posed this question: “Do you think it's just the photo angle, or is Myer's UCC rearend and subframe a little wider than the Dodge Dually in the background?” If you recall UCC 2017, Power Driven effectively stole the show with this configuration—putting 10 feet on the rest of the high-powered competition.

Busch Light Nationals

The Busch Light Pulling Nationals went down in Evansville, Indiana over the weekend, and both the Super Stock and 3.0 diesel trucks were in the house. In the latter category, the “Full Bore” Dodge, driven by Coty Bader, held off Brian Shew in the “Iron Maiden” for the win on Thursday. Then, Coty proceeded to dominate once again Saturday afternoon and win later on that night. Also taking place Saturday night—and on the heels of a Second Place effort the evening before—Tripp Haisley drove “Trump” out the back door for the win—putting more than 15 feet on the rest of the Super Stock field.

Cummins Improves The X15’s Aftertreatment System For 2027

In an effort to satisfy EPA 2027 heavy-duty diesel emission standards, Cummins is going electric. Well, at least on the aftertreatment side of things. Rather than use a seventh injector (or over fuel a cylinder on the exhaust stroke), Cummins’ X15 will utilize an electric heater before the diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter. It will be powered by a 48-bolt, water-cooler generator/alternator. With instant performance available from an electric heater (in comparison to injecting fuel), Cummins reports it is able to handily meet the new, more stringent NOx emission regulation of 35 mg/bhp-hr, which is down from the current 200 mg/bhp-hr.

New AC Cobra Released

The new AC Cobra GT Coupe is apparently official, and the powerplant is now public: it's getting a Ford 5.0L Coyote V8. Top trim makes up to 720 hp and 605 lb-ft, good for a claimed 3.5-second 0–60 mph run, with either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic.

It rides on an aluminum space frame with carbon fiber bodywork, lands around 3,527 pounds, and keeps a 50:50 weight split. Production is limited to 100 per year, 1,000 total, with deliveries expected in 2028. Pricing starts around $315K naturally aspirated and $345K supercharged. Basically, it’s old-school Cobra attitude with modern Coyote muscle (kinda like our SMC Cobra's..).
