Yet Another 72 Fast Truck Makes 1,300+ RWHP

From Texas to Ohio, and back to Texas again—Dustin LeBlanc (owner of Underground Diesels & Performance) is preparing his third-gen Cummins to do battle at the $100,000 Seventy 2 Fast race the weekend of September 25-26th. During a recent trip to Firepunk Diesel, Dustin’s Dodge made an impressive 1,321-rwhp and 2,166 lb-ft of torque while strapped to the company’s chassis dyno. His recipe entails a D&J Precision Machine engine, 300-percent over injectors, and a single, 14mm CP3. Not bad fuel-only numbers for a single pump and the VS Racing 72mm (T4) turbo…Now it’s on to testing at the track and dialing in the truck’s 60-foot.

NASCAR Has a Swear Jar Now

NASCAR may have just come up with its best promotion in years. During the final ten races of the season, every time a Cup driver swears on the radio, NASCAR puts $5 into a swear jar. Last weekend's Darlington race did a great job getting things started. Drivers were caught swearing 223 times during the Southern 500, which put $1,115 in the pot after one race. Fans can guess the final total for the Chase, and whoever gets it right wins the money. Reminds us of the oddball side bets during the Super Bowl, but for racing. Hilarious.

Ryan Milliken Receives A Presidential Pardon From Donald Trump

Yep, it really happened this time. With the stroke of a pen, President Donald Trump pardoned one of the most influential people in the diesel industry, Hardway Performance’s Ryan Milliken, for Clean Air Act violations dating back to 2016. Now, the remainder of Milliken’s hefty fine, his probation, and (most importantly) a felony conviction is no longer hanging over the Florida-based entrepreneur’s head. It’s yet another case of the current administration reining in the extreme measures previously taken by the federal government in enforcing environmental law(s), and effectively giving business owners their personal and professional lives back.

The V10 Mustang Ford Almost Threw Away

Long before Ford started turning Mustang into its own little performance universe, engineers built this monstrosity. A 1999 Mustang Cobra with a naturally aspirated V10, six-speed manual and enough oddball engineering to make you wonder how it ever got approved. The original 6.8-liter Triton V10 wouldn’t fit, so the team basically made their own using 4.6-liter V8 architecture and two extra cylinders (yup). Ford originally rated it at 426 horsepower. After being revived by the Heritage Fleet, it just laid down 510 horsepower at the wheels. Yeah, we want one.
